Crawlspace mold testing
Crawlspaces are where moisture hides. Find out whether it’s affecting the air you breathe, from a tester with nothing to sell you.
| Outdoor control | 640 sp/m³ | Baseline |
| Living room | 410 sp/m³ | Normal |
| Basement | 3,900 sp/m³ | Elevated |
Illustrative example only, not a real customer’s results. Your report compares each indoor sample with the outdoor control.
Why crawlspaces matter
Air from a crawlspace moves up into the living space. If the crawlspace is damp, that moisture and any mold spores can affect indoor air, even when you can’t see a thing upstairs.
Signs worth testing
- A musty smell that’s stronger on humid days or when the AC runs
- Standing water, damp insulation or sagging vapor barrier
- Condensation on ducts or pipes under the house
- Cupping hardwood floors or soft spots
How we test a crawlspace
Your provider inspects the crawlspace with moisture readings and collects air samples in the living space alongside an outdoor control. Crawlspace access is a $150 add-on because it requires protective gear and extra time. Surface samples can be added if there’s visible growth.
We don’t sell encapsulation
Many companies that inspect crawlspaces also sell encapsulation, dehumidifiers or remediation. We don’t. Your report tells you what the lab found so you can decide what, if anything, to fix, and compare quotes with facts in hand.
